Sega fans have just one month to pick up 64 of the publisher’s best games before they’re gone for good
SEGA has had a fantastic year with excellent games launching one after another.
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Persona 3 Reload and Metaphor: ReFantazio are just a few of the many excellent games Sega has launched this year.
However, Sega wasn’t always known for just its excellent games, it used to be best known for its amazing consoles.
King among the Sega consoles was the Mega Drive (Genesis), the console where many of Sega’s most beloved franchises were born.
Sega has been great at supporting its older games, and many of its Mega Drive/Genesis, Saturn, and Dreamcast games on other platforms.
However, the company recently announced that it would be ending sales of its older games, starting from December 7, 2024.
If you purchase any of these games before this date, you’ll still be able to download and play them whenever you want.
The change is specifically aimed at game sales, and not the ability to play games that are already owned.
Sega Classics will also still be available for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers to play, as they rent rather than purchase the games.
The change will affect 64 games in total, and they will no longer be available to purchase after this date.
