If you have this Hyte CPU cooler, take it out of your system ASAP

Hyte is a manufacurer of PC cases and accessories, known for AIO coolers with a lot of extras. But if you have one very specific design—the Hyte Thicc Q80 Trio—then you need to take it out of your system. After reporting a design flaw that can cause coolant leaks, the company is recalling the product and issuing refunds.
“We received user reports of coolant leakage in some units’ packaging upon delivery,” said Hyte in an official alert (spotted by PC Gamer). The company is currently analyzing exactly what went wrong, but in the meantime, it’s instructing all users to remove the cooler from their PC and instructing retailers and system integrators to pull the affected stock.
“Customers who purchased directly from HYTE.com will receive full refunds and instructions on how to safely dispose of the AIO soon,” said the alert. “We will also notify authorized resellers to reach out to customers who have purchased this product on next steps.”
The Thicc Q80 Trio is the company’s flagship triple-fan AIO design, topped off with a 5-inch screen above the heat spreader and pump, and retailing for $350 USD before yesterday. According to the alert, the similar Thicc Q60 was released before the new model and is not being recalled, apparently having a different enough design that it doesn’t suffer from whatever flaw is in play.
