Microsoft gives Windows 11’s Widgets panel a much-needed makeover

Microsoft is giving the Widgets panel in Windows 11 a major facelift with the Windows 11 25H2 update, reports Windows Latest. The new version of the Discover feed now has a more modern look with rounded corners, clearer structure, and support for multiple dashboards.

Dashboards can now be grouped together in a left-hand menu, while the feed will have a greater focus on AI-curated content via Copilot. The “Curated by Copilot” feature allows Microsoft’s AI assistant to curate news and articles from MSN sources based on the user’s interests.

You might remember that Widgets were originally introduced in Windows Vista under the name Gadgets. The feature later disappeared, only to return in Windows 11 as Widgets. Since then, the panel has often been described as cluttered and limited in customization.

The updated Widgets experience is being rolled out gradually as a server-based update and via the Copilot app. An exact launch date has not yet been confirmed.
