This 1440p/240Hz mini-LED gaming monitor is only $250 right now
We’ve been bullish on OLED monitor deals for the last year or so, but the floor for most of them seems to be around $350 for a 27-inch model. That’s still a good chunk of change, and there are legit reasons to be anxious about OLED. If you’d rather go for an advanced mini-LED option, today you can pick one up for $249.99 at Amazon. That’s $80 off the usual price and even cheaper than AOC’s own store.
The AOC Q27G4ZMN hits right in the sweet spot of current PC gaming monitors: 27 inches and 2560×1440 resolution. With 240Hz, it’s as fast as more expensive OLEDs and should offer the speed to stay competitive in the most fast-paced online multiplayer games.
And the mini-LED backlighting should offer better brightness and more contrast than a standard LCD with better local dimming. But it’s worth pointing out that this is still a conventional VA panel, and there’s no standard for exactly how many lighting zones “mini-LED” indicates. Still, at least you don’t have to worry about OLED burn-in.
This design is pretty limp on the rest of its hardware, offering only DisplayPort and double HDMI connections plus a 3.5mm headphone jack. It does include a pretty decent stand with horizontal options, but I’d still add on a VESA monitor arm instead.
