The ED on Tuesday raided several Vivo locations in India. The ED raided the company’s offices at 44 places in several states, including Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Punjab and Haryana. The raid was carried out by the ED in a money laundering case. The CBI, along with the ED, is also investigating the company’s financial misconduct.

In April alone, the ED had taken major action against Vivo Company. This time an inquiry was held to see if there was a discrepancy between Vivo’s ownership and financial reports.

Huawei, Xiaomi was also raided by the ED

In addition to Vivo, the Chinese mobile company Xiaomi was also targeted by the ED. In April, the ED had seized Rs 5,551 crore from Xiaomi’s Bangalore office. The company was accused of illegally sending its earnings out of India. The raid was carried out in this case. The Income Tax Department also raided Huawei’s offices in February. The raids were carried out at offices in Delhi, Haryana, Gurugram and Bangalore. Authorities also seized some documents in the tax evasion case. “We are abiding by every rule to run a company in India,” Huawei said after the raid. The ED, CBI and the Ministry of Corporate Affairs of the Government of India are keeping a close watch on the financial transactions of these Chinese companies.
