1) Use a battery saver

When Battery Saver is on, your PC temporarily shuts down some of the things that consume the most power. This includes automatic email, calendar sync, live tile updates, and apps you don’t use much. For this, go to Settings and go to System. Then select Power & Battery option. If you want the battery saver to turn on when the battery drops below a certain level, you need to select Battery Saver. Then select the battery level of your choice. Keep Battery Saver running until the PC charges.

2) Choose a shorter period for active performance

This trick helps save laptop battery. This reduces the screen time considerably. For this go to Start and then tap on Settings. Then go to System and select Power & Battery. Then select Screen and Sleep. To turn on battery power, select turn off my screen.

3) Reduce the brightness of the display

First go to Start and then Settings. Then go to Display and go to System and then select Brightness.

4) Reduce the screen refresh rate

High refresh rate improves device performance. But this consumes more battery. To decrease the screen refresh rate, go to Start. Then go to Settings and go to System. Then go to Display and then select Advanced Display. Then select a lower refresh rate.

5) Select the Custom Graphics option for the app

First go to Start and then click on Settings. Then go to System and go to Display. Then select Graphics. Under Custom Options for Apps select an app and then select Options. Then select Power Saving.
