Sales of major AC companies hit record highs in April and demand is expected to remain strong for the entire month of May.

However, as Corona’s fears subside, sales of ACs in April this year have reached pre-April 2019 sales figures.
100 percent more sales this year
Pradip Bakshi, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Voltas, said that sales in the AC industry in April 2022 have increased dramatically compared to the same month last year. Summer didn’t feel like much last year. So it had a direct effect on sales. Sales were down. This time, however, the situation is reversed. This year, the summer has taken its toll on the common man. So this rising temperature has also led to a huge increase in sales of AC companies. The rise in temperature compared to last year has fallen on the companies’ diet. As a result, sales have increased 100 percent this year.
Panasonic sold 1 lakh ACs
Gaurav Saha, Business Head, Panasonic India, said that the company has recorded record demand this year and sold over one lakh ACs in April. Air conditioners are in record demand this year.
Panasonic India sold more than 1 lakh units in April this year, an increase of 83 per cent over April 2021 and 67 per cent over April 2019.
1500 crore sales
In addition, sales of Johnson Controls-Hitachi Air Conditioning India, which sells ACs under the Hitachi brand name, have nearly doubled in the last month compared to April 2021. The company expects a record sales of Rs 1,500 crore during this summer season.
