When Covid stopped everyone…

Prof. Manindra Agarwal said that this project started in 2017. An equipment was needed for the aircraft and it was to come from America. The order was placed in 2019. But, a few days later, Covid came and everything came to a standstill.

Aircraft modifications had to be approved when the device arrived last year. The arrival of the engineer from America was delayed. Thus after many problems the experiment was successful.

The aircraft took off. He scattered the seed and returned. It rained a lot when we were going to test. But, it did not make much difference to this campaign. Now India is in such a condition that it can rain anytime.

How does cloud seeding happen?

This experiment is important not only for IIT Kanpur, but for the entire country. Because this test is successful, it can be used to deal with drought as well as to curb air pollution.

Clouds are necessary for rain. The aircraft takes to the sky and sows the clouds. A specific method is used for this. When this seed reaches the clouds, it turns into a solid and rains. This is not a simple process.

This is the complete process

A scientific method is used to produce seeds in the sky. It consists of ice, silver iodine along with chemical elements and a special tool is applied in the aircraft. Artificial rain is seeded after the aircraft reaches a certain altitude. Shortly after this process is completed, it rains. These raindrops are slightly larger.
