The Game Awards showcases 19 games ahead of the biggest gaming event of the year
THE Game Awards are commonly known as the gaming Oscars, but it’s not all about the awards.
During the ceremony there are hours of trailers, reveals, and announcements for the biggest upcoming games.
Just before the show, The Game Awards teamed up with Day of the Devs to announce some upcoming indies, and shadow-drop some big games.
Here’s everything you need to know about the Day of the Devs showcase.
Table of Contents
Lok Digital
Lok is a puzzle game all about learning a new language in order to solve crossword-style puzzles.
Build your vocabulary of the Lok language and complete increasingly complex puzzles to help the Lok creatures thrive.
Lok is out now on PC and will launch on iOS and Android in 2025.
TankHead
A roguelike where sci-fi robots work to build tanks that then take part in warfare.
Just like real tanks, you’ll have to use unwieldy tank controls to take down the enemy.
Tankhead is out now on the Epic Games Store.
Crescent County
Crescent County is a mix of magical witches and street races, where you speed against friends on your broom.
With a strong emphasis on your relationships with the people of the town, it’s a true mix of genres.
No release date was given for Crescent County, and a driving (flying?) test demo is out now on Steam.
Hyper Light Breaker
From the development team behind Hyper Light Drifter, this 3D roguelike is an entirely different genre.
Enter procedurally-generated maps, and try to beat the boss, before your lives are up.
Hyper Light Breaker will be released in Steam early access in January 2025.
Kingmakers
Kingmakers asks and answers the question: what would war in mediaeval times look like if everyone had guns?
The twist is that you and your mates are the only gunslingers in this destructible sandbox, playable in solo or co-op.
Kingmakers launches on Steam and Epic Games Store in February 2025.
Bionic Bay
If you like 2D platformers with unique twists like Limbo or Braid then Bionic Bay will be one to watch.
It’s all about exploration and solving problems on the fly as you teleport back and forth to reach your goal.
Bionic Bay will launch on March 23, 2024, for PS5 and Steam.
Blue Prince
One of the weirder trailers during Day of the Devs, Blue Prince is a mystery puzzle game where you explore a mansion looking for answers.
It’s unclear exactly what we’ll find inside, but I think that’s part of the game’s overall mystery.
Blue Prince will launch in early 2025 for Steam and Windows.
Demon Tides
A cute 3D platformer, similar in style to games like Penny’s Big Breakaway, with fast-paced action.
There will be a variety of outfits, and online functionality so you can show off to others in the open-world sandbox.
Demon Tides will launch on Steam in 2025.
Faraway
A re-release of a classic onе-button casual game where you play as a star swinging around other stars to create new constellations.
Levels are procedurally generated, so it’s infinitely replayable as you try to make the fanciest shapes you can.
Faraway will be released on PC in 2025.
Neon Abyss 2
A sequel to the 2020 roguelike run ‘n’ gun shooter, Neon Abyss 2 hopes to raise the stakes on the action.
Featuring an all-new weapon system, with new combat styles, you can change up how you want to slice through the levels.
Neon Abyss 2 launches for PC in 2025.
Feltopia
If you like side-scrolling SHUMPs, then Feltopia is an interesting take on the genre with entirely handfelted graphics.
Featuring stop-motion animation, it’s more of a cute ‘em up as you fly on a pegasus to clean up your town.
Feltopia will launch on Steam in 2026.
Blippo+
A really unusual type of game, Blippo+ is an interactive TV set with black-and-white 1-bit graphics.
Based on the wacky TV shows of the ‘90s, there will be a wide variety of nostalgic shows to interact with.
There was no release date for Blippo+ given at the showcase, but it says that the release date will be coming soon.
Curiosmos
A city builder with a twist as instead of building a simple town, you’ll be creating planets and getting them ready for life to sprout and evolve.
However, there is a looming threat over your solar system, and you’ll have to figure out the secrets of the universe to protect your civilisations.
No release date for this one yet, and we’re unsure when we’ll see more.
Incolatus: Don’t Stop, Girlypop!
Despite its cutesy look, Incolatus is more like Doom (2016) than Barbie Riding Club.
This is a fast-paced FPS where you have to keep moving if you want to keep your multiplier, health and damage up.
No release date but it’s coming to PC.
Inkonbini: One Store. Many Stories
A slice-of-life simulation game, where you play as a clerk in a small-town Japanese convenience store in the early ‘90s.
You’ll not only be managing the store, but interacting with customers to slowly learn about their lives.
No release date here, but you will be able to catch it on PS5, Nintendo Switch, Steam and Xbox.
PBJ – The Musical
This ramps the kooky factor up to eleven, as a peanut and a strawberry try to meet while taking on a magical, musical journey.
Featuring cut-out black-and-white photographs in a very interesting art style we’re excited to find out more.
No release dates or platforms for the whimsical PBJ – The Musical yet.
Recur
A 3D puzzle game where time moves when you do, so moving through the world also controls the fourth dimension.
It’s one of those that will melt your brain to begin with, but feel so satisfying when you wrap your head around it.
Recur will launch on Steam, but no release date yet.
Sleight of Hand
A mix between third-person stealth action and deck building, your cards decide which tricks you can pull off.
Similar to immersive sims like Dishonored, your choices matter as you try to traverse the world.
Sleight of Hand doesn’t have a release date, but it’s coming to Steam and Xbox.
Ultimate Sheep Raccoon
The follow up to Ultimate Chicken Horse, Ultimate Sheep Raccoon is a party game that moves on from the series platforming roots.

Instead, it’s a bike racer where you battle and speed against friends to take the crown.
No release date or platform for this one yet.
