Once you upgrade to an OLED gaming monitor, you’ll need something to play on it, naturally. Today’s deal covers both of those bases. You can get a Samsung Odyssey 27-inch OLED monitor and a Steam code for Resident Evil Requiem, all for just $350. That’s $200 off the monitor with a $70 brand-new game thrown in.
The Samsung Odyssey OLED G50SF is a pretty standard gaming OLED, with a “sweet spot” 2560×1440 resolution. The 180Hz refresh rate is a little slower than some of the competition, but considering the price I think it’s still plenty fast. Connections are a bit on the spare side, only supporting DisplayPort and HDMI, so this is definitely a desktop monitor unless you have a really good laptop dock. (There’s a USB port on the back, but it’s only for maintenance.)
I’m not a big horror fan, so I can’t tell you if Resident Evil Requiem is a worthy extra or not, but it’s the newest game in the series coming out this Friday. I suppose you can redeem the promotion via Samsung’s site and pass the Steam key on to a buddy (or sell it?) if it’s not to your taste.
The promotion is running on Amazon and Newegg, but if those stores run out you can get it direct from Samsung. If this isn’t what you’re looking for, check out PCWorld’s roundup of the best monitors.
