I never have enough cables and chargers. Whenever I need one, what I have is either in use or mysteriously unavailable. Normally this charger + cable bundle is $16, but Anker has slashed the price on the black and white options by 57 percent.
The only catch? You have to be an Amazon Prime member for this price. But that’s not truly a problem—if you’re not a member currently, you can sign up for an Amazon Prime trial for Black Friday shopping, then let it expire.
The Anker 511 is a compact 30W gallium nitride (GaN) charger, measuring about 1.12 inches in thickness. I picked up this bundle because this charger has prongs that flip down when not in use—far less annoying when throwing it in a bag—and it also comes with a 2-year warranty.
Technically, it’s compatible with any USB-C device, though its 30W rating makes it best suited for smartphones and tablets (both iOS and Android). You can also charge some MacBook Air models as well. For most laptops though, this will be underpowered and you may get a “device is charging slowly” warning (or it won’t charge at all).
