- While the Arc G3 Extreme processor promises better gaming performance, battery life with the new chip remains a critical concern requiring real-world testing.
For my money the most exciting announcement of Computex 2026 (so far) has been the MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ gaming handheld, which is among the first devices to hit the market powered by the new Intel Arc G3 Extreme processor.
That should give it a shot in the arm power-wise over the original MSI Claw 8 AI+ with its Intel Core Ultra 7 processor, though the new EX model looks otherwise fairly identical to its predecessor. PCWorld’s Adam Patrick Murray had a chance to see one up close at Computex 2026, and now you can watch as he takes you inside (!) one of these cutting-edge PC gaming handhelds.
On top of that, Adam also had the opportunity to chat with MSI System Product Management Director Cliff Chun on the show floor at Computex. Our camera captured Chun walking us through the performance differences upgrading to G3 Extreme make as well as how MSI has worked to optimize the system for that extra performance.
Of course, we’ll have to wait and see for ourselves whether the new MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ is capable of delivering the promised performance upgrades without sacrificing battery life.
