Shock iPhone change revealed – Apple’s handset may never look the same again

APPLE could be making quite the design change on the next iPhone.

There’s talk of the smartphone powerhouse making some significant changes to the buttons on the unannounced iPhone 15 Pro.

Rumour has it, Apple wants to drop the clicky volume and power buttons on the side of the iPhone.

Instead the firm will apparently swap them for “solid-state buttons”.

Solid-state buttons are surfaces that vibrate to simulate the feeling of clicking something.

And if that sounds familiar, you’re not wrong.

Apple already did the same thing on the iPhone 7 and 8 by replacing the main Home button at the bottom.

The latest claim comes via expert Ming-Chi Kuo, who has leaked loads of stuff about upcoming iPhones in the past.

“My latest survey indicates that high-end iPhone 15 models will feature solid-state buttons and will equip with additional Taptic Engines to simulate the feel of physical buttons’ force feedback,” he said.

The insider also suggested that Apple could roll the design out to other “high-end” devices in future if people “respond well” to it.

That could mean the iPad Pro or Apple Watch.

Kuo only recently made another shock claim about the future of iPhone.

Earlier this week he said that Apple won’t go ahead with a brand new iPhone SE 4 in 2024 as had been rumoured.

The iPhone SE is the tech giant’s more budget-friendly model which has been going since 2016.

There have been three versions.

The most recent, iPhone SE 3, having been release last year.

Rumour had it that the firm was working on a fourth for release next year, but it’s apparently off the cards now.

Apple was apparently looking to start using its own new 5G chip, rather than Qualcomm’s, which are widely used in loads of smartphones.

Apple is super secretive about all its plans, so always take rumours with a pinch of salt until we hear it from the horse’s mouth.
