People are just noticing the extremely gross reason why your iPhone is so quiet
A PHONES experts has revealed the dirty reason why your iPhone might not be as loud as it should be.
Fortunately it doesn’t require an expensive new speaker to be fitted.
What it actually needs is a good clean.
IDoctor iPhone & Android Repairs showed Facebook fans just how mucky your iPhone can get overtime.
Dust, pockets and all sorts of other day-to-day activities can eventually clog your device’s speaker grills up.
The grills are the tiny holes you’ll find along the bottom of your iPhone.
With these blocked sound can become muffled.
“99% of customers who ask for their speaker replacing will change their mind after we do this,” they say.
A video shows a lot of dirt stuck in an iPhone’s speaker grill.
But using a simple tool, you can carefully scratch the muck out.
Of course, this is not an officially recommended way to clean your iPhone, so be careful about what you choose to do – and consider speaking to Apple for advice first.
Apple’s own cleaning guidance page recommends that you unplug all cables and turn off your iPhone before carrying out any type of cleaning.
Avoid getting moisture in openings.
Don’t use cleaning products or compressed air.
It should be obvious but just in case – don’t submerge your iPhone in any cleaning agents.
