Vedanta Group has forayed into semiconductor manufacturing. Vedanta-Foxconn will soon set up the country’s first semiconductor manufacturing plant in Gujarat. This project was to be set up in Maharashtra.

1.54 lakh crore expenditure

The country’s first semiconductor project is expected to cost Rs 1.54 lakh crore. This will provide employment to 1 lakh people in the state of Gujarat.

The price will be so low

Due to this project, 1 lakh laptop will now be available for 40,000 thousand rupees. Laptops will soon be within the reach of common people.

Break the monopoly

Taiwan and Korea have monopolies in semiconductor manufacturing. Other countries manufacture semiconductors. India was dependent on these countries. Now semiconductors are being manufactured in the country itself.

38 percent stake

The project is being set up through a joint venture between Vedanta and Foxconn. Foxconn will have a 38 percent stake in the project.

Two years of waiting

It will take another two years to manufacture semiconductors after this project starts. The company expects a turnover of 3.5 million dollars from this project.
