One of the best things you can do for your home office? Lift your monitor off your desk. It’s better for your neck, eyes, and posture. It also clears up much-needed desk space. If you don’t trust the cheap, off-brand models that plague Amazon, here’s one to get: MSI’s MAG MT201W heavy-duty monitor arm is now $80, down from its original $110.
It truly is heavy-duty, able to support monitors ranging from just 17 inches all the way up to a massive 49 inches. Want to use a single ultrawide monster with your PC? This monitor arm, rated for the widest displays up to a hefty 44 pounds, will hold it up safely and securely. Not even 49-inchers come close to that weight limit, so you can rest easy.
My favorite feature of the MAG MT201W is the quick-release VESA plate that makes it painless to snap the monitor on and off the base. That VESA plate fits both 75×75 and 100×100 standards, by the way. The monitor also comes with both C-clamp and grommet mounts, so you can use it with pretty much any desk type. It looks better and articulates more smoothly than cheaper off-brands, too.
It’s perfect for single-monitor setups of any size, but not the right option if you have multiple displays. I mean, you could buy one for each monitor you have, but you’d be better off with a proper dual-monitor or even triple-monitor arm stand instead.
While hard to recommend at its original $110—and it has even spiked up to $130 at times—the MAG MT201W is a solid get now that it’s on sale for $80. This is the lowest price it’s ever been by a large margin, so take advantage if you’re interested. On a tighter budget or need multi-display options? See PCWorld’s picks for the best monitor arms.
