I freakin’ love my Shokz bone conduction headphones. I’ve been using them for the better part of a decade—starting back when they were called AfterShokz—and the OpenRun Pro 2 design is my favorite of the bunch. It’d normally cost you a hefty $180, but today you can get them for $55 off. Put another way: the current $125 price tag on Amazon is the cheapest this set has been since it debuted last year.
Bone conduction headphones keep your ears clear and get audio into your noggin by vibrating the bones in your temple, which means you can still hear everything around you. And while the competition is heating up, I think Shokz is still the best in the business. The OpenRun Pro 2 leaves everything else in the dust thanks to enhanced clarity and bass, 12 hours of battery life, excellent water protection (I use it when kayaking!), and still being rechargeable with a standard USB-C cable.
But despite having less audio fidelity than standard headphones, I’ve also found the OpenRun Pro 2 to be my go-to way to comfortably listen to just about anything. I like them for being out and about in town or grocery shopping, just so I don’t bump into anyone. I’ve even used them for a few video meetings, though not for its microphone—these are still Bluetooth headphones, after all.
In a rare win, Amazon is offering all colorways on sale today, including the popular orange option and mini versions (which have a shorter band for smaller heads). Discounts are also available on other Shokz headphones, like the bud-style OpenDots One and OpenFit 2+. If you want something more affordable in the bone conduction format, the original OpenMove is just $55.
