Howrah: To avoid delays in getting medicines to sick people due to vehicular traffic and other reasons, a startup launched a scheme to deliver medicines via drones in Kolkata on Tuesday. This scheme will help the needy patients to get relief. During the Corona period, the Corona vaccine (Covid Vaccine) and life saving drugs (Life saving drugs) were supplied to the remote areas of the country through drones. A few years ago, the experiment of delivering pizza by drone was very popular.

You must have heard the news of pizza delivery by now using modern devices like drones. But a drone delivery service was inaugurated in Kolkata on Tuesday. There is heavy traffic jam on Kolkata and Howrah road. Arpit Sharma, the head of this startup company, said that this startup to deliver medicines through drones will be welcomed. He also said that in the next few days, we will supply medicines through drones from eight more places in the state of West Bengal.

He said that he will launch this service in Kalikapur, North Kolkata within a month. Our drone company is based in Delhi. We are making TSAW drones. Currently we have started drone delivery service from Howrah to Salt Lake sector. TSAW chief Arpit Sharma said that we will now provide our services in many areas. “We will soon expand this medicine delivery service to nearby cities using high range drones,” he said. A company in Mumbai experimented with pizza delivery through drones a few years ago.

Telangana became the first state

Earlier, the Telangana government has taken the lead in starting home delivery of medicines through drones under its Sky Project. The project was launched by Telangana government in partnership with World Economic Forum, Niti Aayog and Healthnet Global. Under this project, a plan was implemented to distribute vaccines and medicines in the airspace of Vikarabad district using beyond visual line of site drone flights. Before starting this project, the Telangana government had sought approval from the Ministry of Civil Aviation. The scheme was launched after it was approved by the Ministry.
