Pokémon Go introduced a new mechanic that fans have been asking for since the Switch launched

POKÉMON Go has just introduced a new mechanic that fans have been begging for ever since Sword and Shield were released.

Dynamax Pokémon were added to the popular mobile game, and while Max Battles aren’t available yet, players can already catch a few larger-than-life Pokémon.

If you want to grab a Dynamax Pokémon in Pokémon Go for yourself, here’s everything you need to know.

How to get Max Particles in Pokémon Go

Max Particles are the latest resource added to Pokémon Go and they will let you power up your Dynamax Pokémon as well as compete in Max Battles.

You can collect them in two ways, either by visiting Power Spots, or simply by walking around.

Power Spots look like PokéStops, but they won’t replace any existing Stops or Gyms.

When you visit a Power Spot you’ll be taken to a screen that will allow you to pick up 120 MP once per Stop per day.

You’ll get 300MP for every 2km you walk, with a cap of 800MP that you can earn per day. You can also only hold up to 1000MP at a time.

How to catch Dynamax Pokémon in Pokémon Go

There are no Dynamax Pokémon currently available in the wild, but they may be available at Power Spots in the future.

It seems that these will behave similarly to raids, where players will battle Dynamax Pokémon in Max Battles.

There are two ways you can currently grab Dynamax Pokémon.

Firstly, you can grab a Dynamax Wooloo for completing the first stage of the To the Max! special research quest.

The second method is by maxing out the MP counter, which will also spawn a Dynamax Wooloo.

Catching these Dynamax Pokémon is similar to catching any other Pokémon, and you’re able to use your own Poké Balls rather than just Premier Balls like raids.

You’ll be able to see the Dynamax Pokémon form in your Pokémon list, where you can also upgrade its Max Moves using MP, Candy, and XL Candy.

There is no way as of yet to turn owned Pokémon into Dynamax or Gigantamax Pokémon.
