Samsung users to gain four new features including AI upgrade that tells you the name of a song in a video within seconds

SAMSUNG devices look set to receive a raft of new tricks on their phone as part of Android’s latest shake-up.

And some of them could be pretty handy, such as the ability to identify songs from anything playing on your phone or around you.

Circle to Search burst onto the scene at the start of the year as a way to literally circle anything on screen with your finger and Google will find it on the internet.

The tool is now going a step further with music ID tech, a bit like the long-running Shazam app.

It works from anywhere such as a social media app and doesn’t require you to leave the app you currently have open.

In the same way as the existing Circle to Search feature, all you’ll need to do is long press the Home button or navigation bar to activate it.

You’ll then see a music button to identify the track name and artist.

TALKBACK

Elsewhere, there’s a new Talkback tool designed for people who are blind or have low vision.

Powered by Google’s new AI-powered assistant Gemini, the feature will make digital images even more accessible with detailed audio descriptions.

It works all across your phone, be it from your own photos, pictures in text messages or from social media.

LISTEN TO WEB PAGES

Another handy addition comes to Google Chrome, with a new button that will read out the page to you.

Look for Listen To This Page in the app’s menu.

You can even change the speed and voice that speaks.

EARTHQUAKE ALERTS

Google is expanding its potentially life-saving earthquake alerts.

However, it still remains limited to the US for now – this latest change brings it to all US states and six territories.

The alerts will warn you seconds before shaking starts and when it’s over, some tips will be on offer on what to do next.
