Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 rumours and release date: Everything we know so far
RUMOURS and leaks are already coming out about the highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and the Z Flip 6.
As the names suggest, the devices are Samsung’s flagship foldable phones that have been going since 2019.
Here’s everything we know about them so far.

Release date and pricing
Samsung has got into the habit of releasing new Fold and Flip handsets every summer, so our best bet will be then.
More specifically, this year’s Fold 5 and Flip 5 were unveiled in late July.
Before that, two others were launched in August.
So there’s a good chance the Fold 6 and Flip 6 will come out sometime around then if Samsung is to follow a similar plan.
As for prices, nothing has been confirmed yet either.
The latest Fold 5 was priced at £1,749, while the Flip 5 started at £1,049.
So we expect the sixth generation will cost at least these amounts.

Design
Samsung has largely stuck to the same design since the Fold started in 2019, making incremental improvements over the years.
The Fold 5 managed to close the gap in the middle of its screen totally, while the Flip 5 had a much bigger display on the outside.
However, a leaked prototype of the Fold’s apparent successor appears to show one change requested by fans.
Some complained that the folded handset is too thin giving it more of a remote-control like form.
But images of a dummy model published by leakster Ice Universe suggest a much wider width on the cards.
As for the Flip 6, rumour has it the bezel could be reduced.
Display
The display sizes are one thing that could receive a big upgrade too, according to tipster Naver – which would line up with earlier claims about the overall design size of the Fold 6.
Apparently, the aspect ratio for both the inner and outer screens will change.
And if rumours of the bezel on the Flip 6 are true, this will mean more screen space for that model too.
Cameras
Leakster Ice Universe claims that the cameras on the Fold 6 will be the same as the Fold 5 – which, by the way, are the same as the Fold 4.
For your reference, that set up is a 50-megapixel main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide, a 10MP telephoto (with 3x optical zoom), a 10-megapixel cover screen lens, as well as a 4-megapixel under-display camera within the foldable screen.
Specs
The powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip is expected to be on board the Fold 6.

Of course, the device itself will continue to run on Android which will be Android 14 with Samsung’s own OneUI 6.0 on top at launch.
Seeing as Android 15 is expected in 2024, we can expect more features to come later.
