A planet 70 percent larger than Earth

Research led by the University of Montreal in Canada has revealed that the new planet is 70 percent larger than Earth and five times larger than Earth. There are also stones on this planet. Hence it is also called as super earth. The ocean on this planet is 30 percent of the total planet. If compared to the Earth, 70 percent of the Earth is ocean. But in terms of mass, this ocean is only 1 percent of the Earth’s.

A thick layer of water on this planet

According to the study of researchers, this planet is far away from its stars. So its temperature is neither too hot nor too cold. Therefore, there is a possibility of getting liquid water there. Astronomers claim that there is a possibility of a thick layer of water on this planet. A similar layer of water is likely to exist on the planets Jupiter and Saturn.

Research will be done with the James Webb Telescope

Currently, this exoplanet is being discovered through NASA’s Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) space telescope. However, Professor René Doyon, who is involved in this research, claims that the world’s most powerful James Webb Telescope can help in this research. Researchers, scientists will soon take the James Webb Telescope to better understand the wonderful world of planet TOI-1452b.

A planet that had been discovered before

Earlier, an exoplanet was discovered in a research conducted in early August. The mass on that planet is 4 times that of Earth. This planet exists in the outer region of the galaxy. Scientists have named this planet as ‘Ross 508 b’. This planet is 37 light years away from Earth. A year on this planet is equal to 11 days.
