Mumbai, Telecom regulator TRAI calls telemarketing to telecom companies (Telemarketing calls) And directed to take action against unregistered companies to stop SMS. TRAI has also directed companies to take action against telemarketing companies calling from private numbers. According to a recent survey, two out of every three Indians receive three or more nuisance calls every day. 50 percent of them say that such calls come from people’s personal numbers.

Guidelines issued by TRAI

An average of 45 percent of people surveyed in a local survey receive 3-5 nuisance calls per day. While 16 percent claim that they receive 6-10 calls per day. 5 percent claim to receive more than 10 nuisance calls per day. 100 percent of all those surveyed confirm receiving nuisance calls on a regular basis. 60 percent of callers receive most calls related to “sales of financial services”. 18 percent received most calls related to “selling real estate,” while 10 percent received most calls related to “offering a job/earning opportunity.” According to the survey, the situation is worsening as the efforts of TRAI and operators have not yielded results so far. The survey outlines the modus operandi of prank calls through TRAI’s personal phone numbers and wants TRAI to take strict action against them.
