It was unveiled during the September 2025 PlayStation State of Play.

The October 2025 lineup of games is set to give players a spooky new collection to see them through the scariest month of the year.

This chilling batch of freebies is worth as much as £81 in total.

Highly acclaimed survival horror game Alan Wake 2 is already announced as the lead entry of the new batch.

Two more games are set to join the lineup for a proper Halloween gaming delight.

These will be Goat Simulator 3 and Cocoon.

And subscribers won’t have to wait long to be able to get their hands on this freebie haul.

When will it be available?

The PS Plus Essential October 2025 lineup will be ready to redeem from October 7.

If Sony continues their usual trends for availability, they will be there until November 3.

Anyone who wishes to claim the games will need to be a PS Plus subscriber.

The cost for this starts out at $9.99 per month with the Essential tier of membership.

September’s games are still available to redeem for anyone with the subscription.

But time is running out to get your hands on them, as the offer will expire on October 6.

It includes the following titles:

  • Psychonauts 2
  • Stardew Valley
  • Viewfinder

The news comes after Sony was criticised after gamers spotted the tech giant has quietly downgraded a popular PS5 model.

Not only this, but the price was not reduced as a result.

Eagle-eyed shoppers noticed that the tweaked PS5 Slim build now comes with a lot less game storage.

It won’t make any difference to the console’s performance.

What is shrinkflation?

Shrinkflation is when products shrink in size but remain at the same price, meaning shoppers pay the same for less.

It’s a tactic often used by companies to avoid hiking prices, as a change if size is less noticeable.

This tends to happen more with food products like chocolate.
