WhatsApp account with mobile number can be a headache. Some people fear that they will disturb other members by sending messages after being added to the group. But you can use WhatsApp without using a mobile number.

A phone number is required to open any WhatsApp account. But it doesn't need to be the mobile number you are using. There is no option to hide your mobile number on WhatsApp. So you can provide landline number to start WhatsApp account. You can open WhatsApp account with landline number.

Open playstore on android and download whatsapp. Also open it.

Enter your landline number in that field for verification and click OK. WhatsApp will ask if the number you entered is correct or not. Then click on the OK option.

WhatsApp will send a verification code to your approved number. But the message cannot be received on the landline. Instead you can get the code by selecting call option on WhatsApp. You have to wait 90 seconds for this.

Tap on the option Call in 90 seconds. After receiving a call on the landline, pick up and enter the given code. Confirm it and proceed. WhatsApp will start on your mobile.
