This 49-inch OLED ultrawide gaming monitor is $900
How much monitor do you need for your gaming desktop? If the answer is always “more,” then you might be satiated by Samsung’s OLED G9. This behemoth is 49 inches wide, essentially two 1440p displays crammed into one massive, curved panel. Normally $1,300, today Amazon is selling this monitor (new, not refurbished) for $899.99.
There are a few different 49-inch Samsung monitors, but this G91SD OLED model was first launched late last year. While it’s not the fastest OLED around at just 144Hz, you’ll still need a beefy PC to hit that mark across 5120×1440 resolution. You’ll want to use a desktop PC for sure, since the USB-C port on this big fella doesn’t support video or charging.
This particular model goes a little less on eBay as a refurbished or open-box unit, but this is about as good as it gets from a major retailer, at least at the moment. In addition to the speedy .03ms panel you get AMD FreeSync support, and it’s compatible with standard VESA monitor arms–though you’ll want a hefty one, since the display without its stand weighs almost 20 pounds.
Amazon says this is a “limited time deal,” though to be honest, I wouldn’t be surprised to see this and other OLED gaming monitors go on sale again soon for Prime Day (and other retailers should have similar deals at the same time).
