Acer touchscreen laptop with 32GB of RAM
Dang, Acer, just stunt on the rest of the budget laptop space, why don’t you? At $544 for a refurbished model, the Acer Swift Go 16 is offering specs that you can’t find in a laptop at twice that price. We’re talking a 16-inch touchscreen, 32GB of RAM, 1TB of storage, and a 16-core Intel Ultra 9 processor.
The Swift Go 16 is meant to be a portable powerhouse, as if you couldn’t tell from that list of specs. Despite having a big 16:10 touchscreen and a beefy Intel Core Ultra 9 185H processor, it’s only 1.6 kilograms (3.53 pounds) heavy and 356mm (14 inches) wide. That extra space gives it room for plenty of ports: double USB-C, double USB-A, HDMI, and microSD, plus a backlit keyboard with a full number pad. Other impressive specs include Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 support, and an IR camera for Windows Hello face unlock and presence detection.
It’s not the prettiest laptop around, and I can’t find anything on battery life aside from a vague “up to 8 hours 30 minutes” quote on a MicroCenter listing. That is… not great, considering what other Meteor Lake designs can achieve. But if you need a lot of power (including Arc graphics for mid-range gaming) in an affordable package, this one is going to be hard to beat.
While it’s being sold on eBay, the laptop comes straight from Acer as a seller and refurbisher, including a two-year Allstate warranty. If this isn’t what you’re looking for, then check out PCWorld’s roundup of the best laptops on the market.
