TikTok goes DOWN: App stops working for thousands of users in sudden outage
TIKTOK on Tuesday down for some users, leaving them unable to watch videos or load their feeds.
According to online outage trackers, the site began experiencing issues around 3:20pm UK time on Tuesday.

The issue had been resolved within an hour.
More than 1,000 Brits reported that the app wasn’t working on the website DownDetector, which monitors service downtimes.
The issue does not appear to have affected users in the United States.
Sixty-five per cent of reports noted that they had problems loading the app.
Twenty-two per cent said they were struggling to connect to servers while 12 per cent said they could not load the app’s feed.
It’s not immediately clear what caused the problem. It’s also unclear what proportion of users were affected.
The Sun has reached out to TikTok for comment.
Users took to Twitter to vent their frustrations at the unexpected downtime.
One user said: “Is tiktok down? cmon not now i was searching for something.”
Another wrote: “Anyone else’s tiktok down or is it just mine?”
And a third tweeted: “IS TIKTOK DOWN??? My videos are gone.”
TikTok launched in 2018 and has quickly become one of the world’s most popular apps, boasting an estimated one billion users.
It is owned by Beijing-based ByteDance. The Chinese version of the app, called Douyin, was created in 2016.
Users post and watch short videos in which they dance, lip-sync, act out sketches and more.
Outages are rare for the company. The last major hiccup struck TikTok on September 15, 2022.
