New Delhi : No matter how much we are at work, no matter how busy we are, if we get a call, we first take the time to check whose phone it is. He picks up the phone only if the number is saved, otherwise we don’t pick up the phone. Not everyone does this but most of us do. why Fraud! We take this precaution for safety reasons. But now there is a good news for everyone. When you get a call, no matter who it is, you will see that person’s name. Is there good news?

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) is soon going to introduce measures that will display the caller’s name on the receiver’s phone screen while the call/ringing is in progress. This name is added based on the Know Your Customers (KYC) data submitted by the caller. This is stated in the report of Financial Express.

This initiative of Telecom Regulatory Authority of India will bring a lot of relief to people. Phone calls made to make fun of people, phone calls made for scams, frauds are now going to get a lot of attention.

This decision of ‘TRAI’ will not only end all phone scams but will also limit people’s contact. Once this action is implemented, the call receiver will be able to view the caller’s name as per the subsequent KYC record submitted to the telecom operator, even if the caller’s name is not saved on his/her phone.

TRAI is working on a new feature called Caller Identity. After this feature is activated, the caller’s name will also appear on the mobile screen. This name will be as per KYC. The name of the person whose name the SIM card is on will appear on the screen.

After the implementation of this rule, users will also see the name of such caller on the screen, whose mobile number is not saved in the phone. No need to download any separate app for this. TRAI may release this feature in the next three weeks.

Until now, an app like Truecaller used to provide you with information like this. Since the data collected by Truecaller is based on crowdsourcing, we cannot fully trust it. But we can trust KYC based system. So now you don’t have to rely on third party apps to find out who this number is. This will be possible due to the initiative of TRAI.
