What does UAP mean and how is it different from a UFO?

THE term UFO is officially ‘old school’ and has been given a more formal sounding rebrand.

UAP is the new term, which is supposed to shake off some of the stigma surrounding the word UFO.

What does UAP mean?

UAP stands for ‘Unidentified Aerial Phenomena’.

UFO stands for ‘Unidentified Flying Object’.

Many experts in the field found UFO was being ridiculed and reports were not being taken seriously.

It’s thought UAP is a more professional term and it’s becoming increasingly more common as the US begins to seriously discuss UFO/UAP sightings.

The United States Office of Naval Intelligence now has a Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force (UAPTF) program.

It collects reported sightings of mysterious flying objects.

UAP doesn’t necessarily have to refer to a suspected ‘alien craft’ sighting.

Some people think using the term UAP will get sightings taken more seriously.

It’s thought over 90% of UFO sightings have a reasonable explanation

However, recent footage released by the pentagon of strange flying objects is still baffling experts.

Fermi Paradox – what is it?

Here’s what you need to know…

  • The Fermi Paradox isn’t strict evidence for alien life – but more of a thought experiment
  • It’s a famous contradiction posed by physicist Enrico Fermi
  • Fermi suggested that the enormous size of the universe – and the billions of Sun-like stars in the galaxy, and their planets – makes it highly likely that there is intelligent life out there
  • Some of these civilisations may have developed interstellar travel
  • But Fermi also noted that there’s a significant lack of evidence for life on other planets
  • The chances of aliens being able to reach us are high, but there’s no evidence that aliens ever have
  • This paradox has baffled scientists for decades
Bill Clinton says there are UFOs ‘flying around’ and is confident there is ‘life somewhere else’

In other space news, the European Space Agency has revealed it will be sending a probe called EnVision to study the planet Venus.

Scientist Brian Cox believes there could be 200 billion alien civilisations in the universe.

And, the world’s first reality show filmed in space will follow a contestant on a 10-day trip to the ISS in 2023.
