According to new information, the iPhone 15 Pro model is likely to have a LiDAR scanner.
According to McRumors, Sony is going to provide a lidar scanner for the iPhone. This information comes from a research note shared with investors. Barclays analysts Blaine Curtis and Tom O’Malley said Sony could supply lidar scanners for iPhone 15 Pro models to be launched later this year.
Earlier in February, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also reported that Sony would replace Lumentum and Win Semiconductors as the exclusive supplier of lidar scanner components for the iPhone 15 Pro models.
What is LiDAR?
The full name of Lidar is Light Detection and Ranging. Lidar is a type of laser, scanner and GPS receiver. This system is mainly used in airplanes and helicopters. Objects can be measured from a distance through Lidar, as well as understood. Lasers are used for this. So it becomes easy to calculate the size of an object. It also estimates how far the object is.
The iPhone 15 series is said to be launched on September 2023. This will include iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. In particular, there will be a dynamic island and a USB C type port. This model is likely to have the A17 Bionic chip. Also the Pro model will come with titanium frame, solid state volume and power button features.
Apple company is trying to bring iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus cheaper. The current iPhone 14 Plus starting price is Rs 89,900 for the 128GB storage base model. Also, the starting price of iPhone 14 is Rs 79,900.
